Act Belong Commit Sandfly Circus - Small But Spectacular - Sept 2024
Small but Spectacular!
That's a wrap! Despite its name, last weekend's Act Belong Commit Sandfly Circus production 'Small But Spectacular' was HUGE!
🐛Deep in the shadows of the undergrowth was a spectacular world of tiny creatures defending themselves
against a slithering threat. A sold out audience was transported to a vibrant microcosmic kingdom filled with microbats, caterpillars, fireflies and ladybugs!
Audiences were left gasping at the thrilling aerial acrobatics, captivating feats, and dazzling visuals in the family-friendly, buzz-worthy performances which featured clusters of creepy-crawlies, swarms of flies, and an army of frogs who took on a menacing garden reptile.
Small But Spectacular was co-directed by returning circus professionals Stephen Burton from Melbourne, and Nel Simpson from Perth. The show allowed imaginations to run wild, with nearly 100 students taking part.
🐝 Congratulations and enormous gratitude to Stephen Burton, Nel Simpson and Tracy Lowe for realising an epic dream which explores the truth and the humour of the world just outside our own backdoor.
🦋 Biggest thanks to all our trainers, riggers and other circus mob who pitched in long hours week after week to support the act development as well as the personal development of all our young performers. Thanks to the dozens of parents and other volunteers who helped backstage and front of house to keep everything organised and kids and audience at ease - we are blessed by your generosity, your patience, and your enviable skills.
